Writer’s Dojo

Just wanted to pop in and tell you about a site I came across last week when I was looking at another blog and saw a link for the writer’s dojo. I checked it out and joined while I was there.  It looks like a great group to be part of.  Go check it out. 🙂

Title for new book series

Hi everyone,

I have come up with a title for the new series. It’s called Fur and Fang. Fur and Fang is title of series as well as first book unless I come up with another title for it.  I’m working hard on the new series.

I have a few chapters already written for it. I will post a snippet or two soon. Starting on the new series has helped to rejuvenate my writing. I was struggling with the Blood and Water series at the beginning of the year and struggling with writing in general.

I realized I just needed to start something new and fresh and then go back to the other and look at it. That’s what I have done and I’m starting to get back into the flow of writing everyday again.

Have a good night everyone. 🙂

My writing and changes to the site

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to give you a few updates to what’s happening with me and the writing. Right now, I’m rewriting the first series and starting to work on Book 3 of first series.
Have a new series on the horizon as well. It will be about wolves. I’m just starting to make outlines and work on the plot, make notes and such. Will keep you posted.
Will be working on a couple of screenplays as well. More about those later.
Added a new page to the blog called My Book Reviews. Have added 3 book reviews to the page. Took off the published work page for now. Also, changed my sample writing page to my writing with a list of my books and screenplays and their status.

Insecure Writer’s Support Group

As I look back at 2012 I wonder where the writing time went. I was writing everyday but didn’t think I accomplished anything but I was wrong. When I finally took a tally of what I had done I realized I had accomplished more than I thought. I had finished Book 2 of the series I’m writing and started a rough draft of Book 3. The first few chapters of Book 1 is in the hands of my critique partners. I have started working on a couple of screenplays I want to finish this year.
One of my worst fears about my writing is that it’s not good enough. I have overcome that fear by joining local writing groups and sharing my writing with them. I have an online support system as well that has helped me to realize that I have potential as a writer. The one thing I have done that I consider a triumph is I have started to enter different contests and have started joining blog hops. Before I joined the writing groups I didn’t share my writing with anyone that wasn’t family. I didn’t have the courage to enter contests or join blog hops but that changed over the last year or so. I have learned over the last year that you have to take chances and show your work to others if you want to grow as a writer.
My advice to another writer would be to write and write often. Get your story out and then worry about everything else that comes with the writing. Don’t let anyone tell you that you are wasting your time writing because you are not. You have a story to tell so don’t let anyone discourage you from doing it.
