The Jersey Devil is the creature of the day. The lore behind this one is that it resides in the Pine Barrens of Southern New Jersey. It’s often described as a creature with bat-like wings, horns, and small arms with clawed hands, and have hooves. It has been referenced in shows like The X-files, and MonsterQuest on the History channel.
I’ve heard the term “jersey devil” but never really had any idea what it was or what it looked like. Now I know and I kinda wish I didn’t. lol
I totally agree. I had the stories but never thought about what they would actually look like.
They went a really different route with it in that X-Files episode.
I never saw the episode but given the fact it was X-files it wouldn’t surprise me that they went a different route with it.

I find this one of the most amusing cryptozoological creatures I have ever heard about. Very accurate for Jersey 😀 I have a friend who lives there who never heard about it, so I introduced her to the story. 🙂
