The Golden Key Chronicles

22012973

The key would unlock his future and the safety of his kingdom,
but he never imagined the sorceress would unlock his heart…

When antiques restorer, Rowena Lindstrom, purchases an armoire containing a hidden key and a “magic” mirror, she believes the handsome warrior prince waiting on the other side is some sort of elaborate joke. Yet she cannot deny their connection seems bound by more than just the key and, as her love for Prince Caedmon grows, she agrees to join him in his realm. Prophecy intervenes in a way neither of them could have expected. Lost and alone in the Austiere Kingdom, Rowena struggles to find her place, and though she fights the heated advances of the dangerous Prince Caedmon, the attraction between them brings challenges much deeper than her troubled heart can recall.

After two torturous years held captive in the dungeons of Seviere’s Keep, Prince Caedmon returns home with more than just lash marks lacing his back. He now retains the secret behind the key, and is the only one who understands its grim connection to his beloved Rowena. Yet their enemies to the north are merely one of many obstacles determined to see them fail and, to escape the clutches of the evil Wizard Gaelleod, Rowena and Caedmon flee to the future—the one place Caedmon’s worst fears are confirmed. Though Rowena’s memories have returned, everything he loves stands to be ripped from his grasp.

Join Caedmon and Rowena as they embark on an epic journey bound by fate, and struggle to unravel the significance behind an age-old prophecy in The Golden Key Chronicles.

My Review:

I couldn’t put it down. I love the story of Rowena and Caedmon. The world A.J. created is great. It has some great twists and turns. Rowena is pulled into a world that should only exist in her imagination. She believes someone is playing a joke on her at first. She finds herself falling for Caedmon after she realizes it’s not a joke. As they start their relationship they are torn apart. They have to find their way back to each other against all the obstacles in their way. Would highly recommend that it be added to your TBR list. It’s a great read for those who love fantasy. I look forward to reading more of A.J.’s books.

Shattered Veil(The Diatous Wars #1) by Tracy E. Banghart Review

Shattered Veil (The Diatous Wars #1)

19194602

When everything that defines you is stripped away, who do you become?

War has invaded Atalanta’s quiet villages and lush woodlands, igniting whispered worries in its glittering capitol. Far from the front lines, 18-year-old Aris Haan, a talented wingjet flyer, has little cause for concern. Until her beloved Calix is thrust into the fray, and a stranger makes her an impossible offer: the chance to join a secret army of women embedded within the all-male military.

Aris’s choice to follow Calix to war will do more than put her in physical danger; it will make her question everything she believes about herself. When she and her enigmatic commander uncover a deadly conspiracy, her expert flying may be the only hope for her dominion’s survival…and her own.

It’s Mulan meets Battlestar Galactica, with a heroine who is strong enough to save a nation…but only if she’s willing to sacrifice everything, even the one promise she swore she’d never break.

 My Review:

Great book. I couldn’t put it down. There are some great twists and turns. I love the characters and the world Tracy has created. Aris is a great main character. The decisions she makes and the situations she is thrown into help to shape her into the person she becomes by the end of the book. Great ending. I wasn’t expecting that. I would highly recommend it to everyone. I look forward to reading more of Tracy’s books.
