Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.
June didn’t go as planned. I didn’t get to edit any of my vampire series or get a good start on the game. Also, had to opt out of a project because I had overextended myself. I took a few days off from writing anything. I learned the hard way that having too many projects going at one time can lead to missed deadlines.
So, I have spent the last few days of June cleaning up my writing area and deciding on what projects to move forward with and which ones can wait for some reason or another. I’m participating in Camp NaNo. I’m using it to write the story for my game.
Question for the gamers out there. What program or method do you use to design your concepts( ideas, characters, worlds, etc)? I use campaign cartographer 3 to design my worlds. I’m learning to use Unity to design the game.
Another question for you as well if you design your own comics or graphic novels. What is a good program to use to design comic books and graphic novels?
Over the next few weeks I’ll be changing the blog around a bit. New pages will be added and some pages possibly removed. Haven’t decided which ones if any will be deleted. Also, thinking of some ideas for possible blog hops to host. π
That’s it for this one. Can’t wait to read your comments. π
I’m always guilty of overextending myself. I have CP reading to do and just cannot find the time. Hope you get everything done, can’t offer any guidance with gaming matters I’m afraid. π¦

Hi Shah,
I know what you mean. I have a couple of beta reads and reviews that need to be done. Hope to get those accomplished this week. π
I think we all over-extend ourselves from time to time, so I’d chalk it up to a learning experience rather than beating yourself up about it too much.
It’s interesting that you actually design your world rather than keeping it just in your mind’s eye – I’ve done a bit of this myself for a distant project that I feel the need to do a bit of world-building for, but all I’ve done is hand draw a map of the continent, and played around with the ‘character creator’ at the start of Skyrim.
I’ve also found in the past that it’s useful to find photos, online or ones I’ve taken myself, that represent the scenes where I’ve set my stories, to help me build up the look of the scene.
I’d be interested in reading more about your process, if you’ve written in more detail elsewhere?
Hi David,
I was upset at first but then I did just as you stated I chalked it up to a learning experience and have moved on.
I love to have a picture of the world I see in my mind when I’m creating a new story. I’ve recently brought cartographer and it helps a lot with this.
I play Skyrim. Haven’t thought about using the character creator at the start to help with character design. Will look at that when I play again. π
I haven’t written my process down in more detail anywhere else just yet. I plan to add a tips page to the blog in the next few weeks and that will be one of the posts when it’s ready. π
The only reasons I’ve used Skyrim is that it has a fairly detailed character builder, and the idea I’m using it for is partially based on both Skyrim and Game of Thrones, I’d imagine there’s probably other games with more detailed character building tools.
I’ll make sure to watch out for that tips blog!
Hope July is better for you.
When you find out those answers, let everyone know. I’m sure you’ll help a few other writers.
Thanks Alex. Should have tips and the like ready to share with everyone soon.
My June didn’t go as planned either, and so far, my July isn’t looking much better. I’m mired in editing hell. God luck with Camp NaNo!
So sorry you’ve had a bad couple of months. Hopefully, it will get better soon for you. Let me know if there’s anything I can do to help.
Thanks. Will keep everyone posted on Camp NaNo.
Sorry June didn’t work as planned. I’ve learned to roll with the summer. My kids are home and nothing ever goest to plan. It’s hard, but as they are getting older I’m learning to relax and enjoy it. It won’t be long until they start leaving!
Good luck with whatever you decide to concentrate on in July.
Thanks Charity. So far July is starting out good. Hope it stays that way. π
I am starting to feel better. It seems so many of us had unproductive June’s.
July is not off to that great of a start for me either…
I am so overextended.
I agree. It seems as though June was an off month for a lot of writers I know. Hope July gets better for you. π
