Bilbo is one of my favorite characters from The Hobbit. He’s no ordinary hobbit. He went on an adventure that changed him and he knew it would. I wonder what Bilbo would like or believe was important to him. So, here it is in his own words.
Hi everyone Bilbo here. I would have done a list but I don’t think all the letters would have something filled in. So, I think I’ll just tell a story instead of what or who is important to me. Family is the first and most important thing to me. For me, it would be my parents Belladonna and Bungo Baggins. Then there’s Frodo. I have loved every minute that I was able to raise him. He helped me in a lot of ways to move past what I experienced on my little adventure.
Gandalf would be next. For a wizard he wasn’t a bad person to have as a friend even if he did seem to talk in riddles. Each of the dwarves mean something to me in different ways. For most of them it would be their personalities and the way they view life. I could list each one of them here but I won’t.
There are many more people and even some places that are important to me but that’s something for another day. Let’s just say I love the people and locations of Middle-Earth. I couldn’t see living anywhere else. Have a good day.
Too cute! XD
Bilbo is one of my favs in the LotR world as well. The Hobbit is my favorite book, and although the movies took a LOT OF liberties I really enjoyed them. I though Martin Freeman did an amazing job with the character. ^_^
Thanks. Have to agree about the movies but I still love them 🙂 I agree about Martin Freeman he did an amazing job as Bilbo. 🙂
Lovely 🙂 Should have guessed B would be for Bilbo! A very remarkable hobbit. I keep meaning to read The Hobbit now I am an adult – it was the book that launched my love of fantasy, but I have only ever had it read to me, not read it myself.

Yes he was. I read The Hobbit again as an adult after seeing Unexpected Journey. I really enjoyed reading it. I read it and LOTR every year and watch the movies a few times a year. It launched my love for fantasy as well. 🙂
He likes his little hole most of all. Gotta love Bilbo.
Yes he does. He is most definitely one of my faves from the book and the movies.
I should have guessed what your B would be 🙂 You can’t have a LotR/Hobbit AtoZ without dear Bilbo.

That is so true. It wouldn’t have been right leaving Bilbo out. 🙂
Great to have Bilbo as a guest writer today! A excellent B!
Thanks. Was going for something fun with the post and thought having Bilbo be a guest writer was the way to go. 🙂
Bilbo is one of my faves as well. Love LOTR.
And Martin Freeman played him to perfection in the films.
I agree completely. Martin did an awesome job of playing him.
i loved his interactions with the other characters in the movie. he was the straight man in a car full of clowns. and he was the naughty kid scolded by his dad with thorin. I like bilbo in the cartoon from the 80s too.
but smaug is my all-time favorite.
I agree. Never saw the cartoon. Smaug is great. I love dragons.
Hola, I’m in the A to Z Challenge and decided to say hello. I can’t say I’m particularly fond of LOTR, but a friend of mine, who is absolutely brilliant loves LOTR. I will tell her to come and check you out. Enjoy C-Z 🙂
Hi, thanks for stopping by. please do share with your friend. Good luck with the challenge. 🙂
Excellent choice. Enjoyed the post. It was extremely creative to have Bilbo author it . Two thumbs up.
Hi, thanks. glad you enjoyed it. 🙂
I loved Bilbo for his name before I ever knew his story. I figured he had to be a booklover.
I have to agree about his name. Bilbo is such a great name for someone like him. 🙂
Bilbo is certainly the greatest little hobbit of them all. 🙂
Yes, he is. 🙂
Hi, loved this different informative topic-Bilbo.

Very good! I just came over here to snag a front-page link so I can feature you in the post I am using on Sunday to set up an open thread situation where people can share A-to-Z links.
Bilbo is important. I wrote five posts about him in February and March for my sister’s blog. Will write more about him over the summer. (the series is on a break because, A toZ.)
I’m gonna go ahead and drop a link on your thread. This is my Tolkien collection. It’s archived on my personal blog, which is a small thing, but the links mostly go to other blogs. All my writing, though. I am hoping to find the end to this series before 2016.
