Small Update…..

Hi everyone,  just wanted to stop by and give you a small update. I’m busy finishing up short stories at the moment and getting new posts( LOTR/Hobbit, character posts, writing, etc) done and ready to be posted starting in June.

Also, I’m doing something new on here. I’m going to do a book of the month type thing. It’s going to be for authors who would like their covers (whether it’s a new release or one that’s already out) displayed for the whole month.  I’m starting with the one I just posted about. Caged by Destiny Hawkins. Send me a message for more info. 🙂

That’s it for now.

Title: Caged

Author: Destiny Hawkins

Blurb:

Nine years after being stolen from her home and forced into clandestine fights, seventeen year old Rose was ready to start life afresh at Wintry High School, but she found that incredibly hard to do while suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and running into people that were eager to dig up her past. Still, she kept pushing forward to make something out of herself until one day her worst nightmare trapped her in an alley, and suddenly, making a new start became irrelevant.

Real Neat Blog Award!

Real Neat Blog Award

A Creative Mind has been nominated for the Real Neat Blog Award.  Thanks to Shawn at DownHomeThoughts for the nomination.

The Rules:

1) Put the award logo on your blog.
2) Answer the questions asked by the person who nominated you.
3) Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blogs.
4) Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.
5) Let them know you nominated them (by commenting on their blog etc.)

The Questions:

  1. What is your Quest? My quest is to be the best writer and blogger I can be.
  2. What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? Don’t know, but it would be interesting to find out 🙂
  3. Why or why not is character important to you? Character is important to me as a writer and a reader. I love the plots of books but if the character isn’t one I would love to read about then I loose interest fairly quickly regardless of the plot.
  4. Is it okay to lie, even a little white lie? It’s not okay to lie, even if it’s a little white lie.
  5. What is the hardest thing you have ever had to do? I have to say that would be dealing with my grandmother’s death. She was my mom’s mom. I was really close to her and I was born on her birthday. She had helped my mom raise me. It was really hard to see her health decline in the last few years before her death. I wish sometimes that she was still here with me and my mom.

The Nominees:

While not required, participation is encouraged to accept the award and follow the rules above. 🙂

  1. TashasThinkings
  2. Melissa Barker-Simpson
  3. Djinnia and the English Language

Questions for the Nominees:

  1. What is your movie/tv show and why?
  2. Who is your favorite character from a book?
  3. What is your best childhood memory?
  4. Have you always wanted to be a writer?
  5. Where do you dream of living/visiting one day?

#IWSG: Writing Agenda

02a62-insecurewriterssupportgroup

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

Took a few days off after the A to Z challenge. Now, I need to start on the following:

1) Short stories that are due in a few months

2) Next year’s A to to Z theme

3) Edit the first book of my vampire series

4) Start my epic fantasy novel

5) Work on a idea for a possible web series

6) Hobbit/LOTR series of posts for the blog

7) My characters posts for the blog

8) Stories and other updates for the blog

9) Work on my FAE novel

10) Work on the shapeshifter series

and those are just a few projects I have either on my laptop or the files are on my desk needing to be put into scrivener.

Nothing negative to report about writing this month. Everything seems to be going good right now. I think the one reason for that is I’m keeping busy with the writing whether it’s the short stories, fan fiction, the blog, or the novels. I hope that it keeps going.

That’s it for now. Look forward to your comments. 🙂

The A to Z challenge and then some

Well, it’s May 1st and we are saying goodbye to the A to Z challenge until next year. I’m kind of sad it’s over because I had so much fun with the theme I did this year.  I loved bringing the posts to all of you and the comments you added. It was great meeting new people and welcoming new followers to the blog. Now to start planning my theme for next year.  🙂

Also, I have some things to update you about. The character posts and updates about my writing will get started this month I promise. From the comments and the fun that everyone had visiting my Hobbit and LOTR posts in April I’ve decided to make them an on-going series throughout the rest of the year. There is so much in Middle-Earth that can be talked about.  That’s it for now. Feel free to leave comments about what kind of posts for the Hobbit and LOTR you might like to see (characters, places, etc).
