Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.
2015 was a very interesting year as far as goals were concerned. Some I met and some I didn’t. I learned a few things though and one of those was not to take on more than I could handle writing wise. I had to drop a few projects because I wasn’t able to get them done by the deadlines for them. Dropped some other projects because once I started writing I just couldn’t get into the story or the characters for some reason or another.
2016 is going to be a better year. I have a few things that I plan to publish and will hopefully be attending my first author event. Writing goals will be set up two ways: long term, and short team. Each with word counts I know I’ll be able to meet.
That’s it for now. π
I think we all have a few unmet goals each year – I know I do. It sounds like you’ve got a good handle on things and a good plan for moving forward in 2016. Congrats on that.
Thanks. I just hope I can stick to the plan. π
Ugh. I’m a full-time freelance writer and my clients will often pile me down with work. Then they want to know why I’m not getting it done more quickly. They don’t ask beforehand, “Do you have time to do this?” They just send. I have learned to say “No, I don’t have time” when I’m asked, but I’m not asked very often anymore.

Hi Stephanie, I totally understand that. Luckily, the projects were personal ones and not ones I was either critiquing or beta reading. I have great critique partners and the authors I beta read for are awesome as well. π
I love goal assessments, expect when I don’t meet them. Here’s to a great 2016!
I’m the same way. I agree. Hope everyone has a great 2016!
I try to set small goals because it depresses me when I can’t seem to reach my higher expectations!!! Good Luck in the coming months!
Thanks. I know what you mean. I’ve found the smaller goals help me and I don’t get so stressed out when I can’t reach the higher ones for some reason or another. Good luck to you as well. π
