#IWSG: Story Update and My Writing Space

Insecure Writers Support Group Badge

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

How is everyone on this fine Wednesday in December? I have written right at 40,000 words for Town Curse now. The story is shaping up and I like the path it has taken right now. There are some interesting twists unfolding for the main character and some of the other characters. I have to write another 20,000 words for my next thesis but NaNo helped me to get a jump on that. I have right now about 2500 words written for the 20,000 assignment(s) for next term which starts the week before Christmas for me. I only have 3 more terms and I’ll have my degree. I will receive my online teaching certification in January. This will be a birthday present for me as my birthday is happening right around the time I receive it. The other 3 terms will finish up the creative writing side of the degree.

IWSG Optional Question:

What are five objects we’d find in your writing space?

That’s easy. The first object would be my laptop which I do all my writing and schoolwork on. The second object would be post-it notes. The third would be pens and highlighters. The fourth would be folders which hold my syllabi and class assignment grade rubrics. The fifth object would be my textbooks and other reference books I use.

Congrats for Nano working out the way you needed…and for getting that much done. Good luck on the degree!

  2. Nice to “meet” you, Diane. Congrats on almost finishing your degree! I’ve recently started teaching at colleges and a university, and I absolutely love it. It’s tiring, but so rewarding.

    Happy holidays!

    1. Hi J.H., nice to meet you as well. Thank you. Congrats. Sounds like you’re having fun and loving it. I hope to start teaching on the college/university level in the spring/summer terms. Will keep everyone posted.
