#IWSG: A Pre-Order and other news

Insecure Writers Support Group Badge

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone had a great October. Mine was pretty good. I have a story coming out next year in the collection below. The group of authors I’m working with on this one are awesome. It’s fun to be working with them. Check it out and order a copy. 🙂

Every Pack needs an Alpha…

In a pack, you answer to the Alpha, without question, but what happens when you don’t want the job? Or when the other wolves are against you?

It’s never easy being in charge, but for these Alpha Queens, it could prove deadly…

This collection of paranormal and urban fantasy tales explores the world of werewolf packs and female Alphas. Our heroines will face their deepest fears, darkest urges and terrible betrayals, but a Queen always comes out on top.

A Limited Edition Female Alpha Collection

Now to other stuff. I will be writing a column titled Worlds without Women for The Autoethnographer. It is an online literary magazine. I will be writing about my Tolkien project in a six part column. I hope to continue the column after that by discussing fiction worlds and female characters after the initial series of posts are done. So, check it out. I will let everyone know when the first one goes live. It should be at the end of this month or first of next month. Also, my thesis project is being added to the ProQuest database.

Other writing projects are going great. I will be posting about those soon.

To answer the optional question for this month about which is harder to do, coming up with your book title or writing the blurb? I think the blurb is the harder of the two to do. You have to write something that hooks the reader without giving anything away and that is hard to do. Especially since you have to narrow down what the book is about into a couple of paragraphs. For me, book titles are also hard to come up with. I usually don’t have a title until I finish writing the story and then I make a list of at least five titles that I like and think might fit the story. Sometimes I do get lucky and have a title before I even start a story but that is rare.

That’s it for now. Can’t wait to hear from you. 🙂
