Storm Born by Christine Pope

Title: Storm Born
Author: Christine Pope
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Cover Designer: Lou Harper – Cover Affairs
Editor: Katherine Tomlinson, Story Authority
Publication Date: April 29th, 2020
Love can strike like lightning — but so can trouble.
Lightning doesn’t just strike twice for Adara Grant. It strikes all the time. She suffers a setback; the heavens open up. She gets bullied; a tornado flattens a barn. Addie’s mother has always found an excuse to move before whispers and stares morph into pitchforks, but Addie suspects there’s a connection.
She just doesn’t know how. Or why.
Jake Wilcox is a witch hunter — for a good cause. His pet project is a powerful data-mining program that detects lone witches when their gifts manifest, thus bringing these “orphaned” witches under the Wilcox clan’s protection.
When Jake follows a lead to tiny, remote Kanab, Utah, he discovers a young witch as wild and beautiful as a desert storm. But he’s not the only witch hunter in town, and in an instant, Jake and Addie are on the run from someone hungry to use her gift for evil.
Addie finds a new home and protection with the Wilcox clan, but as danger closes in like an icy storm front, she faces a heartbreaking choice to protect her newfound family — and the man she’s coming to love.

New Anthology I’m Participating In

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to pop in to share my exciting news and the banner for the new anthology I’m part of. This anthology is going to be so much fun. I’m writing a story that involves vampires for the anthology. There will be stories that involve witches, mermaids, ghosts, angels, demons, reapers, and pixies to name just a few. We are writing the freshman year stories this year. Next year will be the sophomore year with the junior and senior years to follow in 2022 and 2023. There will be more mentioned about the anthology in future posts. 🙂

Happy Holidays! See you in 2020!

Hi everyone,

As I look back on 2019 I realize I had a pretty good year. I received my online teaching certificate and MFA in Creative Writing. I have written a full-length novel that I’m doing edits/revisions on now and have begun the outlining/writing of books two and three of the series. There are a few other stories I’m outlining/writing as well.

I plan to post about my goals/plans for 2020 during the first week of January. That will most likely be what my IWSG post will be about. I’m working on those goals/plans right now.

Be safe out there while celebrating over the next few weeks. 🙂

Crimson Fire by Mirren Hogan

She had power at her fingertips, but the world had other ideas.

Magic was the last thing on Tabia’s mind — until she discovered she could use it. When her father hands her over to the princess of a neighbouring country to pay his debts, she may have the chance to learn how to control her new abilities.

But her new mistress’ enemies have plans of their own. Caught up in a web of divided loyalties, coercion and betrayal, Tabia can trust no one.

Can she find a way to regain her freedom and return home — or will the struggle cost her the ultimate price?

This is a great book. I had the pleasure to edit this one and then I re-read it recently. Readers who love a good fantasy read will want to grab this one. Starting Dec. 2nd it’s on sale for $.99 and the sale will last for one week.

You can go to Amazon to check it out.

10 Questions Answered About Raven Thornwick

This is an introduction to Raven. She is the main character in the story I’m working on right now which is Town Curse but the title will be changing as the story has changed and evolved into something new. I wanted to do this so you could learn a little about her as I share snippets and other details about the story in the coming months. Enjoy.

What is your name?

Raven Thornwick

Where do you call home?

Forest Grove, a small town in the South. I would rather not say what state at this time to protect its location.

How close are you to your family?

I like to think we are as close as any family could be. We might be a lot closer to each other than most because we are a family of witches and warlocks. My aunt would be the exception because no one in the family wants to have anything to do with her because of something she did when I was younger.

Do you have any siblings? If so, what are they like?

No siblings. Not that my parents didn’t want more but it just didn’t work out.

Do you have any scars? How did you get them?

Only one scar. It’s on my right leg. I got it fighting with another kid when I was about 10 or 11 years old.

Where do you go when you’re angry or depressed?

I like to go to the woods near my house and walk the paths there for hours to cool off and to think.

What annoys you more than anything else?

People who lie and I can tell when someone is lying to me.

Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?

At home with my parents as my teachers. They have taught me how to use the skills and abilities I have.

Tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities.

I have always been aware of my abilities and skills. I was born into a family of witches and warlocks. I will let you in on a little secret about me. I’m more powerful than even my parents and my aunt who is a dark witch. I can control all 4 elements and have some other abilities like telekinesis among others that I won’t go into here because the list would be very long. My parents worry about me and my aunt wants to control me.

Do you have any magical items? Where did you get them?

I have a family spell book that is very old. It was handed down to me by my mother. There are other items as well, but I can’t reveal everything can I. What fun would that be if you learned everything now.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know Raven. There will be more in the upcoming months about her and the other characters of the story.

Look forward to your comments.

Adana the Earth Dragon by Debbie Manber Kupfer

Happy Earth Day! Adana the Earth Dragon is officially out in the World Today!

Hi everyone! I’m here! Today’s the day that my book ADANA THE EARTH DRAGON finally is released into the world. Want to read a sample? Sure you do:
Once upon a time there was a small brown dragon called Adana. Adana was an earth dragon and Adana was very sad. She longed to play with the other dragons, but none of them would accept her as a friend. “It’s because I’m small and brown and boring” she said. “No one wants to be friends with an earth dragon.”
The air dragons would soar through the sky, their wings outstretched. Adana wished she could join them up in their playground of clouds, but she had no wings.
The water dragons would glide effortlessly through the lagoon, playing tag and Marco Polo. Adana yearned to join in their games, but sadly she could not swim.
The fire dragons scared little Adana with their tremendous scaly scarlet forms and flames that could toast two hundred marshmallows with one puff. Adana secretly tried gargling with fire water to see if she might make a flame, but she only gave herself a sore throat. Poor Adana, she could never be a fire dragon.
So sad little Adana slunk into her cave, curled up in a corner, and took a nap.
Now you can’t just leave little me like this – Can you? So pick up a copy of my story, ADANA THE EARTH DRAGON today.
It’s available in paperback from Amazon or directly from this site. There’s even a companion coloring and activity book available.
Prefer to read on Kindle or listen on Audible? I can to that too and the book is available free to Kindle Unlimited subscribers.

AND a bonus the first TEN people to order a copy from this website today will pick up a free audio book of Adana narrated by the awesome Fiona Thraille. This offer is available for orders from the US or the UK. (If you’re in the UK message me for shipping costs – I will be traveling to the UK in June, so if you can wait until then to receive your books I can make the shipping costs a bit cheaper!)
PLUS all orders receive a signed Adana bookmark and a coloring sheet!
So Happy Earth Day folks. Remember to protect the flowers from those big bad giants!
Peace and Love,

Small Update

Hi everyone,

Small update for you tonight. I was going to do the A to Z challenge this year and this past week decided to drop out because of school, my writing, and other behind the scenes stuff that is going on. I just felt like I wouldn’t be able to do my best on the posts for this year.

I did decide at the last minute to participate in Camp NaNo though because of my thesis project. I need to have the first 15k written by a certain time and Camp will allow to do that.

Thanks for understanding. Will post again soon.

Small Update and more about pen name

Hi everyone,

As you may have noticed the Works in Progress tab has disappeared from the bar at the top. There is a reason for this. I have hidden the page and subpages for now because I’m trying to decide if they are going to stay under my name or go under the pen name I’m creating. Which there will be more about that in the next few days like the name, link to the site for her, etc.

I decided since I’m attending school to get my master’s and a teaching certificate I want to keep the two things separate hence starting to write under a pen name. I will still write under my real name for some stories.

More soon. Look forward to your comments and feedback about this.
