November has passed and so has NaNoWrimo. I didn’t win but that’s okay. Classes were the reason. I did a lot of writing but that was assignments. One of those assignments was fun to write. I wrote a paper on J.R.R. Tolkien. It was interesting to research and learn even more about him and The Lord of the Rings.

I have started working on a couple of new story ideas. One is a short story that I hope to have published in the later part of 2018 and the other is a full length novel that should be out sometime in 2019. I will keep everyone posted.

That’s it for now. Look forward to your comments. πŸ™‚

It’s November 1st and NaNo has started. I feel unprepared as I get started today. I didn’t get to do a lot of the prep work done in October that I had wanted to because of school but that is okay. It won’t stop me from trying to reach my 50k goal for the month.

Even if I don’t win I will be happy with whatever my final word count is for NaNo. At least I will have accomplished some writing no matter what. I would love to win again but we will see. School takes up most of my time but I definitely want to get some words added to Town Curse because I will be using it for my thesis.

Good luck to those of you that are participating in NaNo this year.

Look forward to your comments. πŸ™‚

Writing for class assignments seems to be a lot of what I do lately. I have started working on outlines for the old stories and some new ones though during that time. Class is keeping me busy writing papers and working on projects but I am learning a lot in them.

I do plan to participate in NaNo this year but it is going to be continuing Town Curse (Witches of Raven’s Nest Book 1) instead of a new story. I want to get it finished this time around so while I’m taking my classes next term I will also be trying to churn out the additional words I will need to finish the story. πŸ™‚

I plan to update the books page sometime in the coming month with new blurbs for the ones that are on there and with Town Curse and the status of them. Also, I plan to update the rewards on my Patreon page in the coming weeks and start a new newsletter sign-up on here. So be on the lookout for those things to happen and posts about them soon.

I can’t believe it’s September already. I spent the summer taking my first classes for my master’s degree. Now onto the next classes that started on September 4th. This time it’s Literary Theory and English Language. Both are going to be interesting.

I spent time starting new outlines for my work based on some things I learned during the summer and it is helping me a lot. So, we’ll see if I can stick to the new way of doing things. I have started to see improvement in my writing while working on the stories as well. Will be updating again soon on everything. Plan to take a few days and add some new stuff and posts to the blog.

Look forward to reading your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: Camp NaNo and other things

Camp NaNo has ended. I won this time. I was able to get an outline done for Town Curse which I’m still working on. I have also come to the conclusion that I need to go back and write better outlines for my other stories. Also, need to create character sketches for my characters. I have never really done that for them before and realize it needs to be done.

I spent a couple of days in July creating new scrivener files for my novels because I plan to start from scratch with them. Still have the old ones to use as sort of a guide until I decide I don’t need them anymore. Though I most likely will never get rid of the old ones because you never know when you might realize that the old story is actually the one you want to use. So, we will see what happens.

That’s it for now. Look forward to your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: Camp NaNo and other things

Life has been interesting since the middle of June. I started school and have been writing but it’s been weekly assignments that have to be turned in for my classes.

It has been a time of learning to balance everything so I can get things done like my own writing. I think I’ve finally reached a balance where everything is coming together and working like it should.

I decided to go ahead and do Camp NaNo this month and it’s actually working out well even though I haven’t updated the site with my word count yet. I’m using camp to work on Town Curse and surprisingly I’m finding that I’m writing more now that I’m writing for the classes I’m taking. Β The routine of writing everyday for assignments that are due has helped me to get a little more disciplined with my own writing.

That’s it for now. Look forward to your comments. πŸ™‚

I couldn’t decide what to write about this time. The writing is going well. I love the direction I have decided to take the vampire series in and the change of the main character. The fantasy novel has grown a lot with just the list of characters alone. I may look at getting rid of some of them when it’s Β time to revise. Not sure all of them will stay because they really don’t fit the story even now but I’m not going to stop writing it. Will make those decisions about them after the initial draft is done.

Hope to add fun new things to the blog over the next few months. I’m sitting down this week to plan out posts and possibly new pages to add that will be entertaining to everyone. πŸ™‚
