#IWSG: Camp NaNo and more….

Camp NaNo is over and I didn’t hit my goal. That’s okay though. I’m still working on the story and it’s coming along. Definitely can say that I won’t be participating in Camp in July as I will be in my first term of graduate school. I have decided while editing/revising my vampire series that I’m going to take it in a little different direction and the main character has changed at this point as well.

I’m writing new outlines for it and some of the other stories including the epic fantasy one I started on last year. Some of the new directions occurred as I was adding words and revising a couple of them. So, a couple of the stories have been started all over again to fall in line with the new ideas for them. It definitely has been interesting is all I can say.

I have realized I’ve been neglecting to write on here a lot in the last few months or so and that is going to change starting soon. I plan to add the things I’ve been talking about for awhile like the game videos of myself playing Lord of The Rings Online, a series of posts about fantasy and paranormal genres, updates with possible snippets of my writing, and tips (like what my routine is, etc).

That’s it for now. Look forward to your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: Camp NaNo and other news

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

Well Camp NaNo has started and I’ve written a total of about 1000 words but those have been review posts for the site I writeΒ TVΒ  and movie reviews for. I plan to get some writing done today on the story I’m writing during Camp.Β At the beginning of April I took some time to look at the projects I’m working on and decide which ones I wanted to finish in the next couple of months because of how far into the story I am with them. Some of the others are barely started so they have been moved a little lower on the list. I’ll work on those when I need a change from the must get done ones.

Also, at the beginning of April one of the things I was working on that I called a secret project for now is going to start soon. I hadn’t wanted to say anything until I got the confirmation I was waiting on. I’m going to be attending Graduate School for my masters in English and Creative writing with a focus in fiction. My classes will start this summer. πŸ™‚

The other secret project I hope to unveil in the next few weeks or so as well.

That’s it for now. Look forward to reading your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: New projects

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

The last few weeks of February were busy in a good way. I have a couple of things I’m working on kind of behind the scenes you could say. I’ll fill everyone in another time about them when I have news to share. You could say they are my secret projects. πŸ™‚

Writing on all the projects are going great. A little frustrated about one of the stories and how to work in a new plot twist. It sounds good when I talk about it out loud but putting it to paper and the section I want it to go in does not.

Question for everyone. I’m thinking about starting a facebook group. My question is would it be a good idea to have both a group and an author page? I already have an author page. Should I just stick to it or think about creating the group too?

IWSG Question: Have you ever pulled out a really old story and reworked it? Did it work out?

I haven’t pulled out a really old story per say. What I did was to pull out a list of story ideas from a few years ago and look it over. I have set up files for three of them so I can start outlining them. One of them is possibly going to be posted here as a serial for the site. I just need to figure out how often I’ll post it and what the word count for each post will be.

That’s it for now. Look forward to your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: Writing and Word Count Goals

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

Afternoon everyone. I’m so sorry I nearly forgot about this month’s post. Have been busy the last few days cleaning up my desk and moving things around so that hopefully the writing goes better now that all my projects are in one place instead of scattered around the room. πŸ™‚

I’m working on creating a newslettter so look for the sign up box to go up soon. Also, working on some fun posts that I hope to have posted soon.

The writing is going well not like I want it to though but that is okay. I’m still writing each day which is good. May decide to do away with daily word count goals and just write each day and whatever count I reach I’ll be happy with. The goal is to write everyday anyway so I think for me trying to have daily word goals is something I can’t do because I get frustrated when I fall short of the goal for the day. I’ll still have monthly goals to try and stick to but get rid of the daily ones that way no matter what I’ll be happy with the writing I accomplish at the end of the day. πŸ™‚

That’s it for now.

Look forward to your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: Goals 2017

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

January has started off great. I’ve added a little over 1000 new words to the short story that I’m turning into a full length. Also, have decided on my theme andΒ  started the posts for this year’s A to Z challenge.

Now for goals that I hope to accomplish this year:

  1. Finish rewriting/revising my vampire series
  2. Finish adapting Town Curse into a full length novel (hope to have this one done in the next couple of months)
  3. Finish writing the first book of the Fantasy series
  4. Finish the first book of the shapeshifter series
  5. Outline some other story ideas I’ve been wanting to write
  6. Get blog posts planned for the year. Have cool ideas I might try this year. I want to add videos and other content like images, maps of the fantasy world(s) I’m creating. More about the game I’m thinking about. The game is back at stage one because I found I didn’t like the idea I had originally. One of the things I’m thinking about doing as far as videos go is posting videos that I’m thinking about creating while I’m playing Lord of The Rings Online. I’ve recently decided to possibly start live streaming while in game and would love to share the videos here for everyone to see. πŸ™‚
  7. Learn a program or a new skill.
  8. Create some podcasts
  9. Β Possibly put together an anthology
  10. Interact more than I do right now on social media especially here and my facebook page. πŸ™‚

I know some of these are more doable than others and that’s okay. I hope to get some of them accomplished. It would be nice to get them all accomplished but there’s not enough hours in the day. πŸ™‚

Look forward to your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: Setting goals and writing

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

I won NaNo and basically don’t like a lot of what I wrote for the story. So, now it’s on to revising it to get it ready for submission. I have started working on my goals list for 2017. Recently, launched my author services on here. Please check out the page and share it with others. πŸ™‚

Will be adding more new pages in the coming weeks and months. My plan for the rest of December is to post the series of posts I’ve talked about before and to add the first part of a story that is going to be posted on here for all of my lovely followers to read. πŸ™‚

Now, onto December’s IWSG question: In terms of your writing career, where do you see yourself five years from now, and what’s your plan to get there?

I see my writing career and my business thriving whether it’s editing, being a small publisher, or both. πŸ™‚ I have already started part of that plan by launching the author services page on here and am writing or rewriting books to get them ready for publishing.

That’s it for now.

Look forward to your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: Favorite aspect of being a writer

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Thank you to this month’s co-hosts: Joylene Nowell Butler, Jen Chandler, Mary Aalgaar, Lisa Buie Collard, Tamara Narayan, Tyrean Martinson, and Christine Rains. Here is the complete list of participants.

NaNo has started and Β I’m using it to turn the short story Town Curse into a full length novel. Jumping back into that world and dealing with those characters again after a year or two is so exciting. I am hoping to have the first post of Β a few series of posts I plan to do ready to share with everyone this month as well. Enough about that let’s move on to the question posed by IWSG this month. πŸ™‚

What is your favorite aspect of being a writer?

I have to say creating the worlds and characters for my novels and short stories is my favorite aspect of being a writer. To be able to create something that someone else is interested in reading is a lot of fun.

Also, I have to say interacting with readers and followers is right behind it. I love talking with everyone and learning how excited or intrigued they are about something I’m working on.

That’s it for now.

Look forward to your comments. πŸ™‚
