Hobbit Movie Update

hobbitposter2

Fathom events now has info up on their site about it and the trailer is below. Most markets I believe have the start time for each of them being 7:30 pm. I haven’t gotten my tickets yet but will soon. Looks like some good footage was added back into the final movie.

Also, the extended edition blu-ray/dvd of The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies is slated to be released on Nov. 17th in the US and for those who like digital copies it is slated to be released on Oct.17th.

The Hobbit Extended Edition Movies

hobbitposter2

For all you Hobbit fans out there the three extended editions will be coming to theaters near you in October. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be showing on October 5th, Desolation of Smaug will be on October 7th, and Battle of Five Armies will be on October 13th. This is a tenative schedule as theaters are still signing on to show the movies.

AMC theaters has the three dates listed on their site but no times as of today.  You can search for the other two movies on there as well. So, just keep checking your local theater site for dates and times.

A Cool Tolkien Site and an Apology…

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that the google form link has been fixed. So sorry about that. Didn’t know it was broken. 😦

Now onto the other reason for this little interruption. I found really cool site a couple of weeks called Mythgard Institute.  It has classes you can sign up (you have to pay for them), and there are also other things on there that are free to view and listen to. I started watching the videos the teacher put up that talks about Lord of The Rings. There are also videos discussing The Hobbit and other Tolkien items.  There is a section about Lord of The Rings Online as well. They have a kinship on one of the servers on LOTRO and post videos about the game.  There is a youtube series that has started up recently called Middle-earth lore. Players in the game are telling the story of different places in Middle-earth. They tell the story by taking you on a tour in the game. Here is the first video.

Baggins Family Tree

Being a fan of The Hobbit and Lord of The Rings I had always wanted to see what some of the family trees would like because there are a lot of family members listed in some fashion in the books. I was going to try and create one on my own but while I was searching everywhere (the books and LOTR sites) I found this one at a great site called Frodoforever.  I can honestly say I’m glad to have found it and others like it. The tree has helped to keep the relationships straight as I’m reading the books.  This one is the first of several posts that will deal with family trees. Next one up will be the Durin Family Tree.

Enjoy. Have a great day. 🙂

Tolkien….

My book collection

Welcome to the next post in my Hobbit/LOTR series. Have you ever had one of those authors that you just love to read their books over and over. Tolkien is that author for me. I read The Hobbit as a child and I didn’t get the chance to read The Lord of The Rings until I got to high school. The one thing I remember about them was that they were awesome. I was reintroduced to the books again as an adult. I hadn’t thought much about the books until the first movie had been released and will admit the only one I have seen in the movie theater is The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies. I started writing Fantasy when I became of fan. I love the world and the characters he created. This year I’m working on my first epic fantasy novel which seems to be turning into a series as I do my research and outlining. More about it later. 🙂

A friend has the extended editions of the movies and she introduced me to Tolkien again. I remember watching Fellowship and thinking wow I really need to read the books again and now I read them once a year and I watch the movies at least twice a year. I have the extended editions of all the movies except the last one and am waiting patiently for it to be released later this year. 🙂

My movie collection

Hope you enjoyed this. Look forward to reading your comments. 🙂
