Txema Ybarra is the most unenviable nineteen-year-old girl alive.

Smart, pretty, and athletically gifted, this University of Tennessee freshman should be enjoying college life and her entrance into adulthood. And for a moment she does…until the vampires show up.

Born with an unusual ‘twin teardrop’ birthmark on her neck, Txema (pronounced Chema) is one of only a handful of females in the world who bear this trait. It marks her as a vessel of eternal youth and beauty for an elite vampire society determined to protect her precious blood….But it also is the only thing standing in the way of a rogue ‘undead’ nation determined to destroy mankind and usurp the power their sexier brethren have held uncontested for centuries.

Caught in the middle of this war after all the other bearers of the birthmark are murdered, Txema must flee America and heads to France under the protection of five beautiful vampires who all have a vested interest in her survival. The race is on to save her blood, as well as her very life, to ensure the survival of Les Amantes de Vampire. Otherwise, Txema will be the last one…the vampires’ last lover.

My Review:

Great book. I couldn’t put it down. Love the characters and the world that has been created. It’s a real page turner. There are some great twists and turns. I would recommend it to any reader who loves to read about vampires. It’s one of those to put on your TBR list. You won’t be disappointed. I look forward to reading more books by Aiden James and Patrick Burdine.

The Serendipitous Curse:Reviled by Aiden James and Lisa Collicutt Review

The Serendipitous Curse:Reviled

20262480

Being haunted in Savannah Georgia — one of America’s most haunted cities—takes on an entirely new meaning when Solomon and Desiree find themselves caught in the ageless war between good and evil.

Chilling discoveries await the couple, after being summoned to Bonaventure Cemetery at midnight by three angels disguised as the ghosts of Hoodoo priestesses. The priestesses are responsible for Solomon’s reawakening, more than a century after they murdered him. But a second chance comes at a high price.

While Solomon faces his past life’s sins, Desiree discovers horrific secrets of her own.

Hailing from a long line of witches, her deceased mother sought to protect her from this knowledge. But the biggest secret could be the most damning of them all. The demon taunting Solomon through time also attached itself to Desiree when she was a child. It tasted her blood then and has enjoyed a second taste recently. If the demon drinks from her a third time, it will own her very soul.

With the aid of the angels and their gifts, Desiree and Solomon have power enough to defeat the demon. But this also requires digging up her mother’s grave as a necessity in gaining a powerful second gift—an unthinkable task for Desiree. But any procrastination could prove fatal, as a dark witch is hot on her tail and breathes threats of suffering and death.

What happens when Desiree succumbs to wickedness? Will Solomon risk everything — his entire existence—by diving headfirst into the spirit realm to save her?

Only time will tell if ignoring the angel’s warnings to tread carefully enables Solomon to find Desiree before her soul is lost forever.

Aiden and Lisa have done it again.  I couldn’t put it down. It’s fast paced and action packed. This time Solomon and Desiree are fighting for their lives while trying to get back to each other and at the same time protect the ones around them. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. Anyone who loves reading books that involve demons, ghosts, and witches will enjoy this series.

The Serendipitous Curse by Aiden James and Lisa Collicutt Review

The Serendipitous Curse

The Serendipitous Curse: Reborn, by Aiden James & Lisa Collicutt

In the heart of Savannah Georgia, lies Solomon Brandt Plantation, a spanking piece of suburban sprawl with a sordid past. When an amnesiac bearing this cursed name stumbles into town, he’s immediately drawn to the haunted antebellum, and also to a Hoodoo practitioner who converses with spirits, and her gorgeous green-eyed niece. Desiree McClinton, a descendent of the Brandt slaves, sparks emotions in Solomon, the likes of which he’s never known. But curses run deep, and Solomon’s crippling nightmares, seeping into real life, soon threaten their budding love. Will Solomon be able to save Desiree from the evil that has followed him through time? Can a tainted soul truly be redeemed?

Great book. I couldn’t put it down. Aiden James teams with Lisa Collicutt on this one. We are introduced to Solomon and Desiree. They cross paths while Solomon is trying to figure out who he is. They start a relationship that finds them fighting to stay alive. He wants to protect her while she doesn’t want to believe the things she saw are real. Anyone who loves reading books that involve demons, ghosts, and witches will enjoy this one.
