#IWSG: Updates….

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

I can’t believe it’s already August. The year seems to have flown by.

Nothing new to really update about other than I didn’t win Camp NaNo and that’s okay. I have been working on some new stuff behind the scenes that I’m happy with so far. The writing is going good. IΒ  have some new ideas I’m outlining for the future. Will be making some changes on here over the next several weeks. Those changes will be on the pages and maybe adding some. The changes will be good ones. I plan to change the theme and layout as well.

I’m also thinking about closing my podcast I haven’t updated it since the first two recordings and I wasn’t happy with those. I think I’ll start from scratch with it and come up with a better plan for it.

I’m going to try and get my newsletter going again. Wish me luck.

That’s it for now. Look forward to reading your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: Updates….

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

June was a busy month when it comes to the writing. It’s going to get even busier for me in the writing department. I have a few stories that I’m working on now that if everything works out will be published in late 2021 and 2022. Immortal Gifts is coming along nicely. The edits/revisions for Raven’s Fate are going well. I have other writing related things I’m working on behind the scenes and will discuss at a later time. I plan to participate in Camp NaNo to help me get some of the writing done or at least started on some of the stories I’m working on.

Still need to set aside time to update the site like I have been talking about doing. Hopefully, I will get started on that this weekend.

That’s it for now. Look forward to reading your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: Raven’s Fate and Immortal Gifts…

Insecure Writers Support Group Badge

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

I can’t believe it’s June already. The first part of the year seems to have flown by. I started writing Immortal Gifts in April and am about half done with it. I am having so much fun writing the new story. I’m still working hard on the edits/revisions on Raven’s Fate. The new project has led me to some other possible story projects as well. I’m taking a few writing classes this summer along with doing the writing. I’m concentrating this summer on enhancing my writing portfolio for freelance writing jobs. The classes I’m taking will help with that.

I will be updating a few of the pages and adding some pages starting this week and weekend. I plan to start posting more often as well with updates on the stories and other writing related topics.

That’s it for now. Look forward to reading your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: Getting back to my writing routine

Insecure Writers Support Group Badge

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

April has been interesting when it comes to the writing. I have been using my gaming pc to try and write while I waited for my new laptop to arrive. It finally arrived last week. Now, I can get back to the writing and bring my word counts back up to where they usually are. The gaming pc is great for the gaming I do and the streaming I plan to start soon. There is something about a keyboard on a laptop that allows me to type a lot faster than I do on the gaming keyboard. I do back up my writing to the pc though so I have everything in two places in case something happens. I haven’t been posting my word counts to Camp NaNo this month. I have made good progress on book 2 of Thornwick Chronicles and on the story for the anthology. I plan to post my word count later today for Camo NaNo to see if I met my goal or not. I decided to not keep track of my word counts or set a goal this month just to see how I felt when writing everyday. It felt good not to worry about word counts and just to write. I feel like I accomplished a lot more writing that way.

I will be updating some of the pages on here in the next couple of weeks with things like character bios and information about the anthology and other writing related things that are going on with me. Let me know if there are any writing topics you would like for me to post about as well.

That’s it for now. Look forward to reading your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: Camp NaNo….

Insecure Writers Support Group Badge

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

March was a crazy month for me writing wise. Things are finally settling down and I’m getting into a good routine with the Anthology story and with Raven’s Fate. I was going to participate in the A to Z Challenge but decided against it because I have several writing deadlines coming up and want to focus on my writing. I’m using Camp NaNo to write the Anthology story and another project as well. Right now, focusing on the writing is the top priority for me so I can get stories published this year. I plan to participate in the A to Z Challenge next year and will start working on a theme later this year.

I can’t wait to start sharing more about the anthology with you. As a matter of fact if you are on Facebook you can check out the anthology page here.Β  Will share more information soon.

That’s it for now. Look forward to reading your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: Writing and more…

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

The end of February ended on a good note. I’m still working on the edits/revisions for Raven’s Fate. I also now have a new project that I’m part of and will post about that as soon as I can and share the details. The podcast has been put on hold for now. I’m starting over with it and plan to revamp it a little bit.

I’m working on some other potential projects (ideas) that have to do with writing and teaching it. Will post more about those as well in a later post.

I’ve also learned over the last month or so that I have to take care of myself and take a day off here and there during the month. I spent a bit of time last month not writingΒ  because I just didn’t feel like dealing with it. I have started a new writing routine that seems to be working now and I’m a lot happier when I sit down each day to write.

That’s it for now. Look forward to reading your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: Updates and New Podcast

Insecure Writers Support Group Badge

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

I wasn’t able to get a lot accomplished near the end of January. Some personal things happened. Now, I’m trying to get back on track in February with the writing and other pursuits. I also launched a podcast last week. Here is the link to the podcast site. It’s called D’s Dragons. Check it out. It’s about fantasy and paranormal fiction and writing in general. The revisions for Raven’s Fate are coming along nicely.

I have a few future posts I’m working for all of you lovely followers. I think you will like them. I plan to start posting them soon. I’ve began refreshing myself on my editing and proofreading skills for relaunching me freelance business. I’m also looking to branch out as a coach/mentor. Once, I get everything together I will post here about it. I’m also putting together sample blog posts, articles, and even papers for my writing portfolio.

That’s it for now. Look forward to reading your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: Goals 2020!

Insecure Writers Support Group Badge

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

Goals 2020:

  1. Focus on one project (or series at a time): Thornwick Chronicles and the other series that may tie-in into it.
  2. Do outlines for the other series I do want to write so if the muses change to those stories then I’ll be ready.
  3. Get my publishing company launched.
  4. Teach
  5. Start my freelance editing/writing up again
  6. Start podcasting/doing some live streaming
  7. Apply to the English and Literature Ph.d program at my local university. I have a little over a year for the deadline because they only accept for the Fall Semester so I wouldn’t start until Fall 2021. That means I can work and get a game plan ready that includes attending classes while I work.
  8. Participate more on social media and post on here on a more regular basis.

IWSG Question:

What started you on your writing journey? Was it a particular book, movie, story, or series? Was it a teacher/coach/spouse/friend/parent? Did you just “know” suddenly you wanted to write? For me, it was reading Anne Rice’s Interview with a Vampire and Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings. Also, my family and a few English teachers that encouraged and supported me along the way.

That’s it for now. Look forward to reading your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: NaNo and Writing During the Holidays

Insecure Writers Support Group Badge

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

I didn’t win NaNo and that’s okay. I have 5k+ for the new book so I look at that as a win. The edits/revisions for Raven’s Fate are moving along nicely. I have changed one of the character’s names and now their part of the story is changing and growing. I love that. I hope to have it ready for publication in mid 2020. The beginning of 2020 isn’t going to happen and that’s okay. It’ll be ready when it’s ready. No cutting corners to get it published before it’s perfect to me. I will be starting the process of finding beta readers soon. It scares me but at the same time it’s going to be great to hear what those readers will have to say about it.

Although the holidays are upon us I’m not going to slack in getting the edits/revisions done or working on the next book and outlining the third one. Will keep everyone updated.

That’s it for now. Look forward to reading your comments. πŸ™‚

#IWSG: NaNoWriMo Update

Insecure Writers Support Group Badge

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

It’s November and writing on book 2 of The Thornwick Chronicles has begun. I’m a little behind on my word count for NaNo and that’s okay. I will write as much as I can of book 2 while participating. Edits/Revisions for book 1 are going great. I’m liking the new direction the book is taking and the plot of book 2 is right in line with the overall story arch at the moment.

Sorry, I didn’t post the spooky things I had discussed in October’s IWSG post. Things behind the scenes took over and time got away from me. I do plan to update you on the Haunted South series I plan to write. At the moment, I plan for there to be a non-fiction series as well as a fiction series. More about it all at a later date.

That’s it for now. Look forward to reading your comments. πŸ™‚
