#IWSG: Edits, Revisions, and Writing

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

It’s been interesting going through the edits and revisions for Raven’s Fate. I seem to get new ideas for twists to the story every time I pick it up to work on it. I also got several covers over the weekend. One of which is going to be the cover for Raven’s Fate. I received a new logo as well over the last couple of days. Thank you to Saruuh at LSKDesigns for my new logo.

IWSG Question:

If you could pick one place in the world to sit and write your next story, where would it be and why?

That’s a hard question to answer. There are a few locations I can think of that I would love to visit and write my next book. One of those locations is New Zealand. As a fan of The Lord of the Rings I fell in love with the place when I saw the behind the scenes footage after watching the movies. Also, to be able to tour the movie set(s) and locations would be great to do. Another place would be Scotland or Ireland. Once again because of the landscapes and histories of those two countries.

In the United States, it would be New Orleans or Savannah. Both cities have a supernatural history that I would love to explore and learn more about.

That’s it for now. Look forward to your comments. 🙂

#IWSG: Vacation and Writing

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

Hi everyone,

I almost forgot about posting today. I just got back from a well earned vacation. I didn’t get a lot of writing done while on vacation other than to start a list of things I want to change about Raven’s Fate. Other than I just relaxed, read, and spent time with my family. I’m done with school. Just waiting for them to confer everything. Raven’s Fate is in the 2nd round of edits/revisions. I’ve also ordered a print copy to use for editing/revision purposes. My goal is to begin putting a call out for beta readers by the 1st of September. So, be on the lookout for a post about that.

Also, revising outlines, timelines, and other pre-writing things for my four other planned series as well as the one Raven’s Fate will belong to. I’m re-reading some of the older stories like the vampire and shape shifters series I started a few years ago and deciding if I want to revamp them and continue their stories. I most likely will but we will see.

That’s it for now. Look forward to your comments. 🙂

#IWSG: Camp NaNo and Other Updates

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

Raven’s Fate is the new title for the story and it is moving along nicely. I love the changes I’m making to it. I’m participating in Camp NaNo and using it to finish the edits/revisions to the story so I can get my thesis turned in before the deadline.

I’m auditing a class on Tolkien this summer which has been so much fun and attended virtually a conference at the end of June called Mythmoot which is held every year and brings together people who love Tolkien and fantasy to hear panels on topics like dragons and even gaming.

I start an online class in August that is about video game writing. I’ve always wanted to write for video games so this is going to be a fun class for me.

That’s it for now. Look forward to your comments. 🙂

#IWSG: Summer Plans for Writing

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

I can’t believe it’s June already. It’s been a great start to the month so far. I’m working on the edits/revisions for my thesis project. I like the new direction the story has taken and the changes I’ve made. I’ve also began to create outlines for the second and third book of the series. Have been jotting down notes on the other stories and new ideas as well.

I’m excited as well. This is my last term of the MFA program. I’m slated to graduate in August. This summer is going to be crazy busy with the assignments I have to do and finishing up the thesis project.

As you have noticed I’ve been changing and adding to the site over the last few weeks or so. I plan to set up a schedule for posting new content and updating the pages each month. I hope you like the changes. That’s it for now.

Look forward to your comments. 🙂

#IWSG: Writing and Changes

Edits and revisions are back on track. Had to get away from the story for a little while. As you may have noticed there have been some changes happening on here in the last few weeks as well. I’ve decided to just stick to my real name for writing both freelance and creative. I’ll be closing the Jordyn Elliot site today. Although I will keep the name on the list for the future if I decide to use a pen name.

It was  a decision that was made after talking with a few friends in the industry and voicing my concerns about keeping up with both while trying to build their audiences. So, with that said be ready for new and fun things to be posted on a more regular basis.

That’s it for now. Look forward to your comments. 🙂

#IWSG: Edits/revisions and more

Things are moving along on the edits/revisions for the story. It is going through some major changes and I’m happy with them. It is heading in a different direction from the original plot which is interesting. The story is turning into a brand new one. I love it.

The classes I’m taking this term are great. I’m learning a lot about content writing and setting up a business. Getting some ideas for changes/directions I want to this site and my pen name site to take. They are fun changes/directions that I think everyone will like. The changes/directions will be rolled out over a period of time and not all at once. Everything is in the planning stages right now. Will keep everyone updated.

That’s it for now. Look forward to your comments. 🙂

#IWSG: Writing and Camp NaNo

Thanks to Alex for hosting this each month. Here is the complete list of participants.

March is here and the edits/revisions are going great. It looks like I’ll be adding more to the word count and am making a lot of changes to it including title and main character. Classes start next week and I’m looking forward to them. They are about the business of writing and content and copy writing.

I can’t decide if I want to participate in the A to Z challenge or Camp NaNo. The A to Z challenge is a little more time consuming so I might sit out again this year. Camp NaNo is easier because I can set up the word count I want to achieve and I have a story I want to get started on while I do edits/revisions and assignments for class and look for teaching jobs.

The site is going to be going through some changes soon with a few new pages and other things.

Look forward to your comments. 🙂
